DATUK WAN SURAYA CELEBRATES KUWAIT’S 59TH NATIONAL DAY & 29TH LIBERATION DAY IN KUALA LUMPUR
Kuwaitis celebrate their national day on the 25th of February every year to mark the ascension of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah to the throne in the year 1950 who contributed significantly in aiding the country to achieve independence in 1961. Kuwait also celebrates its Liberation Day every 26th of February. This official public holiday is celebrated in honor of the country’s independence from Iraq after the first Gulf War.
